Our Story

Hi, my name is Savannah. Im 30 years old, a new mom, and my husband and I live in the mountains of Morganton, Georgia.

The reason I started this subscription box is deeply personal.

When I was 23, my mom was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer. Just a year later, at 24, I lost her.

It was devastating.

My mom was the picture of health — a marathon runner, a personal trainer, the heart of our family. She was strong, active, and took care of herself. When the cancer spread to her liver, lungs, and bones, it left me completely confused. None of it made sense.

In the years that followed, I found myself searching for answers.

That’s when I started learning about the thousands of chemicals that show up in our daily lives — in things like laundry detergent, hand soap, food packaging, fabric dyes, pesticides on produce, and even the products we use in our homes every day. There are nearly 80,000 chemicals we’re exposed to regularly, and once I started learning about it, I couldn’t unsee it.

So I went down the rabbit hole.

And I mean deep.

I watched endless YouTube videos. I learned how to make a sourdough starter with wild yeast. I started growing tomatoes. I learned to make things from scratch — pasta, bread, even things like laundry detergent and coffee creamer. I swapped my Keurig for a French press and started grinding my own coffee beans.

But here’s the thing most people assume about this lifestyle…

I didn’t grow up on a homestead.
I didn’t grow up making everything from scratch.
I didn’t have land, animals, or a garden.

I was just someone who started learning — little by little.

And somewhere along the way, something unexpected happened.

In the middle of all the grief, I started finding comfort in the simple things.

Feeding my sourdough starter each morning.
Pulling my first loaf of bread out of the oven.
Cooking slower meals.
Learning where my food and products actually came from.

Those small moments brought a sense of peace and purpose back into my life.

And that’s really where the idea for **Simply Rooted** was born.

Because I know there are so many people who feel the same pull toward a simpler, more intentional life — but don’t know where to start. Maybe you didn’t grow up doing these things either. Maybe you’re curious about non-toxic living, seasonal cooking, and slowing down… but it all feels overwhelming.

This box was created for you.

Each Simply Rooted box is carefully curated with beautiful, practical products from small businesses that support simple, non-toxic, wholesome living. But it’s not just about the products.

It’s about the experience.

It’s about opening a box that inspires you to slow down for a moment.
To try something new.
To enjoy your home in a deeper way.

Maybe that looks like drizzling chai honey into homemade bread on a Sunday afternoon.
Or trying a seasonal recipe with your family.
Or discovering a product that becomes a staple in your home.

My goal is that each box brings a little bit of that joy into your life — the kind that comes from simple things done well.

Because sometimes the smallest moments are the ones that make a home feel full.
